The culinary capital of the South West comes alive in early December each year as the UK’s crème-de-la-crème chefs make their annual pilgrimage to the Padstow Christmas Festival.
This year from 7th-10th December, an impressive line-up of Cornish food heroes led by Rick Stein, Paul Ainsworth and Emily Scott will be joined by national chef A-listers including Valentine Warner, Matt Tebbutt, Michael Caines and many more.
And with direct, daily flights from London’s Gatwick Airport to Cornwall Airport Newquay, a lucky winner and their guest will be jetting off to join all the delicious festive action.
For almost a decade, Rock-based Sharp’s Brewery, makers of the UK’s number one cask ale, Doom Bar, has been Padstow Christmas Festival’s proud headline sponsor and major festival supporter. And the brewery has teamed up with Eastern Airways and the impeccably located St Moritz Hotel + Cowshed Spa to provide our winners with seamless travel and the most comfortable stay just across the water from all the Padstow Christmas Festival action.
Our winner and their plus 1 can check in up to 15kg of luggage each to their Eastern Airways flight and they’ll be up and away and enjoying complimentary in-flight refreshments in no time. Before they know it, they’ll be checking into their chic St Moritz Hotel King Room for the weekend.
More than just a hotel, St Moritz and its Cowshed Spa has elements of a transatlantic beach resort, as befits its name. In the quiet hamlet of Trebetherick, between Rock and Polzeath on the stunning Cornish north coast, it’s the ideal destination for a relaxing beach holiday, indulgent spa break or family get-together.
They’ll then be one of the first to experience the St Moritz’s first-ever elemental Wild Spa with the option of heading over to Padstow to get a taste of the Festival action. Then they are free to enjoy a relaxing two course dinner with either matching Sharp’s beers, or a bottle of wine, in the hotel’s Shorecrest Restaurant.
On the Saturday they’ll enjoy a fabulous St Moritz Breakfast before being transported to the Padstow Christmas Festival site via the charming Rock – Padstow foot ferry. They’ll have all-day access to the Sharp’s Chef’s Theatre and then they’ll enjoy two hot tickets to the unique Solar Wave Silent Bistro. Here they’ll don some headphones and tune in to the sounds, flavours and aromas all at once. This experience includes bitesize taster dishes prepared by Sharp’s chef friends.
On the Saturday evening, they’ll be ferried back over to Rock for a quick drink at Paul Ainsworth’s pub – The Mariners – before a stunning beer and food pairing journey at Guy Owen’s intimate Karrek restaurant nestled within the St Enodoc Hotel, with incredible views of the Camel Estuary.
On Sunday, they’ll enjoy another breakfast before the e-shuttle back to Cornwall Airport where they’ll have VIP lounge access prior to their Eastern Airways flight back to London Gatwick.
