Our volunteer-led Festival, running from the 7th-10th December, showcases the Sharp’s Chef’s Theatre Kitchen in which a whole host of culinary A-listers perform cooking demonstrations.
“This year, we are delighted to be welcoming Valentine Warner – chef, broadcaster and food writer – for the very first time. We are carefully curating the ultimate foodies festival, uniting the most talented chefs in the world of gastronomy and bringing them to Padstow!” commented Tina. “And as always, we’re championing exciting local talent including Rick Toogood, Founder of Prawn on the Lawn, which as a brand is celebrating ten years in business, making it even more special.”
Featuring live music each day, over 100 food, drink and arts/ craft traders, heartwarming community events, lantern parade and firework display, this year’s festival is set to be an extravagant celebration of festive and foodie fun, with the full chef line-up being released soon!
“The Padstow Christmas Festival is built around the love of food. The Chefs all give up their time freely to attend – they’re all there because they want to share their passion and be part of this remarkable Cornish festival, at a magical time of year, in a truly special place. A festival with authenticity at its heart – we can’t wait to welcome visitors to celebrate the love of food with some of the most talented chefs in the world” continued Tina.
Rick Stein, who has been at the forefront of the event since it started 16 years ago commented, “We’re very proud of Padstow Christmas Festival and its reputation as one of the UK’s most enjoyable festive events. This year is set to be even more spectacular, with the very best and most exciting chefs showcasing their skills. If you love experiencing the joys of food and drink at a wonderful time of year, you are certain to enjoy the Festival. We can’t wait to unveil the full chef line-up soon.”
Valentine Warner, who will be appearing at the Festival for the first time ever, commented, “I’m really looking forward to joining the Padstow Christmas Festival line-up to experience the town’s warmth and hospitality, to use incredible Cornish seafood and produce, and above all, connect with food-lovers from near and far.”
Rick Toogood, Owner and Director of Prawn on the Lawn and Barnaby’s said, “Without a doubt, the Padstow Christmas Festival is the highlight of our calendar and every year it gets better and better. The atmosphere is always so special as thousands of people get together in a magical celebration of food, Christmas and community. 2023 is even more poignant for us as we mark ten years of Prawn on the Lawn and the relaunch of our restaurant Barnaby’s, saying thank you to our customers who have shown us such incredible support over the last decade.”
The two chef stages will feature more than 60 cookery demonstrations, as well as food forums and themed workshops. Now in its 16th year, Padstow Christmas Festival remains a not-for-profit event. Sharp’s Brewery is the headline sponsor of the festival for 2023.
